Project C03 (2012–2016)
Interaction and Change in Oriental Legal Systems. The Transfer of Normative Knowledge as Exemplified by Zoroastrian and Islamic Law (Seventh to Eleventh Centuries)
The project examines the reciprocal influence of Zoroastrian and Islamic law with the purpose of establishing a systematic description of the factors that facilitate transformations of normative knowledge in religious contexts, i.e. contexts that are often considered to be resistant to development. The examination will not only focus on law itself, but also on legal methodology.
A list of publications and events organized by the project can be accessed on the German CRC 980 website.
